$130! And no shipping cause I picked it up myself.
It’s an older Ashford Traditional… from the 70’s, but it spins beautifully. It doesn’t spin as nicely as my larger wheel, but still, it’s a great find for a second wheel. :woohoo:
I knew that you knitted, taught classes, and that you openly share your talents with other knitters. Didn’t know that you are a spinner too. Thanks for sharing the picture of the gorgeous wheel that your Dad made for you, that is such a wonderful gift that he has given you. I know that I treasure everything that my parents made and have given me.
Thanks Deb. My dad is super talented and is a brilliant woodworker. He is a luthier professionally (he builds electric guitars), but he can make anything with wood. This was his first and only spinning wheel, and he didn’t know a thing about them before he started. But it’s the best wheel I’ve ever tried. It’s big and sturdy, and I can spin anything from lace weight cashmere to hemp rope on it. lol
I am so impressed with his beautiful guitars, (I sent the link to a friend who plays). I can see that talent runs in the family. My Dad is 82 so his hands aren’t as steady as they used to be or I would be getting my own custom made wheel. I do have a soap mold and cutter that he made for me a few years back and they are treasures.
