My "new-to-me" Ashford

$130! And no shipping cause I picked it up myself.

It’s an older Ashford Traditional… from the 70’s, but it spins beautifully. It doesn’t spin as nicely as my larger wheel, but still, it’s a great find for a second wheel. :woohoo:

(I still want a Joy though.)

What a great find!!

Wow! Great find.
Enjoy!!

Congratulations!

Congratulations, it looks really well taken care of. What is your other wheel?

My other one is the handmade wheel my dad made for me.

I knew that you knitted, taught classes, and that you openly share your talents with other knitters. Didn’t know that you are a spinner too. Thanks for sharing the picture of the gorgeous wheel that your Dad made for you, that is such a wonderful gift that he has given you. I know that I treasure everything that my parents made and have given me.

I can’t get over how beautiful that wheel is!

Thanks Deb. My dad is super talented and is a brilliant woodworker. He is a luthier professionally (he builds electric guitars), but he can make anything with wood. This was his first and only spinning wheel, and he didn’t know a thing about them before he started. But it’s the best wheel I’ve ever tried. It’s big and sturdy, and I can spin anything from lace weight cashmere to hemp rope on it. lol

He’s also made a drum carder, hand cards, and English combs for me. (I know… I’m a lucky girl. )

She’s beautiful Kristen. (But then I’m biased because I have one just like her!)

I am so impressed with his beautiful guitars, (I sent the link to a friend who plays). I can see that talent runs in the family. My Dad is 82 so his hands aren’t as steady as they used to be or I would be getting my own custom made wheel. I do have a soap mold and cutter that he made for me a few years back and they are treasures.

Thanks again for sharing, you are a blessed girl.

Gorgeous wheel! LOVE the colors! What a wonderful father you have to make you such special gifts.
