and I am addicted to starting projects without finishing my last one (or two or three).
Right now I have a afghan on the crochet needle, an afghan on the needles, a dish cloth patchwork blanket on the needles, dish scrubbies, a baby hat and am wanting to start a market bag!!!
i’m fighting myself against starting something new right now. i just got yarn for the whisper cardigan and i want to start it but i have a bag, a pillow cover, and the Shetland Shorty shrug OTN right now. but i don’t count the shrug cause i had to order another skein and the post office lost it.
I’m knitting this. It is about 90% knitted.
The LARA by Debbie Bliss.
Btu, I’m using this yarn:
And I’m experimenting with several yarns and scarf patterns.
So there is a scarf on the needles with NORO Silk Garden…but it’s getting frogged soon.
I have 10 patterns that are paired with yarn, and set to go soon…but one at a time.
I’ve been trying real hard to work at one thing at a time, and actually get something FINISHED! I get so excited and distracted by all the beautiful knits that folks share in the WHATCHA KNITTING forum! So, I’ve tried real hard to finish “A” before starting “B”. The only exception is if “A” is taking a lot of time to ‘block’. Then I treat myself to a new project on the understanding that as soon as the pieces for “A” are dry, I STOP my work on “B”…and get “A” seamed and finished off!
I keep around 4-5 projects at the same time. I like the variety - they are of different weight yarns, different kind of patterns. Right now i have a lace hoodie, lace stole, worsted weight shawl, pullover and socks. So when i’m tired of tiny needles and holes, i turn to the pullover and the other way around. It keeps boredom away :teehee:
Righ now: Steppe Sweater for Warm Woolies charity, prayer shawl, test knit sock, eyelet baby sweater for charity, baby blanket for gifting. The most I remember having at one time was 7 and I almost had an anxiety attack over it! When I have to go buy more row counters or some other accessory, I know it is time to back off and get some things finished!!
Right now I have so little inclination to knit right now because of being sick, it’s just as well that I’ve only got two projects going right now: a cardi of the Hand Maiden Sea Silk, and some knitted cakes for the window of our favorite caf here in Dingle. I do have yarn and plans for a shrug for myself (it may turn into a cardi, actually!), and a bunch of Christmas projects as well, also another Louisa in another colorway of Thalia for myself, but I’m trying not to do those til I get the cardi done, otherwise it may never get done!
I have several projects in the works at the moment. I just finished the back of a hoodie, two fronts to a kimono and the sense of accomplishment is great. When I finish the project entirely I add another for the variety. So I am like Knittingnat.
Hey, I guess my addiction hasn’t reached a peak yet. I just have one sweater I’m getting ready to begin, but have yarn and patterns for my next 5 projects. I’ve been working very hard to finish each project before beginning another, but I can see the value in having more than one project going at a time. You all have convinced me to jump in and try it. Thanks.
Ok this is what I have done so far in the past 2 weeks, instead of finishing a baby hoodie to be gifted in a few days-I started another baby hoodie cos I wanted to try crochet from the top down, worked on that for a couple days… then almost finished the gift hoodie, went looking for patterns for those amigurumi toys-started an octopus almost finished-went back to finish the gift hoodie, worked on the 2nd hoodie, finished the octopus…started another baby sweater got half done, finished the other hoodie…found a neat pattern on Ravelry for a round crochet dishcloth made a couple of them…almost finished baby sweater, picked up a copy of Creative Knitting loved the bag pattern, went shopping for the yarn and handle and started it couple days ago…and sitting beside my chair is the Doris Chan sweater I started 3 weeks ago.
I think I am seriously disturbed
