Hi Everyone:)
I’m new here & hope to make some great new friends.
I wanted to pass along a good idea my husband has come up with.
I told him about making my own wooden needles (from the knittinghelp site) because I like them better, plus it would be much cheaper then paying $10.00 & more for each set & he suggested cutting the dowels with dog nail clippers. It works great !!! Up to a size 10 dowel/needle can be cut with these. I just mark my cutting point & snip the dowel easy as anything. Make sure to get the clippers that have a round cutting edge & slide them onto the dowel where you want to make the cut & snip it right off. It’s a nice clean cut. :knitting:
My husband's idea
great!!! thanks!
I’d love to see a pic if you can…and welcome.
I’m not sure if you mean just a picture of the cutters or showing it actually doing the cutting … actually I’m not sure if I know how to get it on the computer … LOL
I’ll give it a shot tho…
LOL! I just meant the finished project, but…you could do a whole pic tutorial! Ya, know, since you’re taking pix anyway!!
Clever. For the tip shaping you could always use a pencil sharpener.
Hey! Welcome and thanks for the tip! I love the pup in your avatar!
