My FO: Aidan's Baby Blanket - A Must See! :D :D

It’s been roughly two months in the making but I’m really happy with how this blanket turned out. The only thing that is the downside about the blanket is when I did the rectangle of stockinette stitch to write Aidan’s name in it, it was a lot wider horizontally than the rest of the blanket because the rest was done in a cable stitch which drew the yarn in. Lesson learned.

OH and the other major bummer? My aunt is only about 20-ish weeks and after CONFIRMING at 15 weeks that she was going to name the baby Aidan Miles, she recently told me she’s thinking of other baby names. :passedout:

Here’s the blanket:

THe color change you see in the middle is not noticeable at all in real life, it’s just the way it turned out with the flash.

Without flash:

Close up of name:

Even more close up of name:

And close-up of border:

I know it has its faults but I LOVE my new blanket!! cloud9 And I hope and pray that she won’t change the baby name!!!

That’s beautiful! I hope she won’t change the name, too. Lesson learned though… the name isn’t final till the ink is dry on the birth certificate.

It is beautiful. I think you should give it to her … guilt her into NOT changing the name

It’s fantastic! Did you use a pattern, or wing it? Here’s hoping she doesn’t change the name!

oh that is so gorgeous she better not go changing her mind now. LOL It’s so pretty.

Beautiful!!! Bummer about the name …

:inlove: Very pretty! Maybe you could go ahead and gift it to her an early congrats blanket so she will know about the name.

Wonderful blanket ! I will have my fingers crossed for you

:inlove: That’s absolutely gorgeous! Great job. :cheering:

That’s beautiful! I really hope she doesn’t change the name!

I see no faults whatsoever! This is a true WORK OF ART!

Wow, what a beautiful blanket! It’s just perfect! Okay, worst case scenario, if she does change the name is there a way to rework just the panel with the name? Hope you don’t need to!

That turned out beautifully. I don’t see any flaws. I remember when you figuring the name “panel” out. It would be a shame if she changed the name, but that is how things go sometimes. I think I would give it to her anyway since she told you that name. She can still use it and it can be kind of a family joke. LOL

If worse comes to work I can pull the name out, I just swiss stitched it in so I won’t have to do any frogging, thank goodness. Thanks everyone for the compliments!

I wondered which way you had ended up doing the name. Yeah, the duplicate stitch will allow you to do it over, but what a lot of work when you thought you were done. A labor of love.

A lot of love and patience went inot this blanket! Nice stitch work!

Lovely blanket! Great job

It’s beautiful!
