It’s been roughly two months in the making but I’m really happy with how this blanket turned out. The only thing that is the downside about the blanket is when I did the rectangle of stockinette stitch to write Aidan’s name in it, it was a lot wider horizontally than the rest of the blanket because the rest was done in a cable stitch which drew the yarn in. Lesson learned.
OH and the other major bummer? My aunt is only about 20-ish weeks and after CONFIRMING at 15 weeks that she was going to name the baby Aidan Miles, she recently told me she’s thinking of other baby names. :passedout:
Here’s the blanket:
THe color change you see in the middle is not noticeable at all in real life, it’s just the way it turned out with the flash.
Without flash:
Close up of name:
Even more close up of name:
And close-up of border:
I know it has its faults but I LOVE my new blanket!! cloud9 And I hope and pray that she won’t change the baby name!!!
Wow, what a beautiful blanket! It’s just perfect! Okay, worst case scenario, if she does change the name is there a way to rework just the panel with the name? Hope you don’t need to!
That turned out beautifully. I don’t see any flaws. I remember when you figuring the name “panel” out. It would be a shame if she changed the name, but that is how things go sometimes. I think I would give it to her anyway since she told you that name. She can still use it and it can be kind of a family joke. LOL
If worse comes to work I can pull the name out, I just swiss stitched it in so I won’t have to do any frogging, thank goodness. Thanks everyone for the compliments!
I wondered which way you had ended up doing the name. Yeah, the duplicate stitch will allow you to do it over, but what a lot of work when you thought you were done. A labor of love.
