This is my first ever sweater. The colors look horrible on the picture, but they are actually a beautiful turquoise, bluish gray and blue. I am kind of proud that I stepped a little bit out of my box to knit this sweater. I made a couple changes because it called for ribbon ties and rosettes and I wanted buttons so I made button loops (not brave enough for buttonholes without directions quite yet) It proves to me that I can do something besides scarves and blankets and hats that are easy. This sweater was an easy project because it is knit in one piece, but I had a couple issues, one of which was incorrect directions with regards to the sleeve cuff’s border. I would have had to rip out most of the sweater to put the border on the sleeve cuffs because of it and it looked fine without it so I just ignored the stupid mistake and finished the sweater off. Hopefully I will get better with seams etc as I go along, but I am sure my new grandbaby is not going to complain next winter when he needs a sweater and hat. I have a blanket to match that I am halfway through with too.
