My first sweater - a couple of questions

I’m planning on making my first garment after havig just finished a scarf. I know that it’s a pretty lofty goal and probably won’t work, but I wanna give it a whirl anyway.

I have a couple of questions before I start:

  1. Which pattern is easier: http://www.theanticraft.com/archive/samhain05/curseyourbf.htm or
    http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=85&d_id=22&lang=en

  2. also, I want to intarisa this design on the front: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v146/azalea905/skullprintable_lg.jpg
does one of the above patterns work better than the other?

thanks a bunches!

For my two cents, I would do the second one, because you are not using dpns (double pointed needles). I would not add that on top of what you are already planning.

You won’t be able to do either pattern as written with the intarsia design. It won’t work in the round. Find a sweater that you can knit flat–at least for the front and back. You could knit a raglan down to the armpits and then divide for the front and back.

do you have any suggestions for a pattern>

ingrid: thank you for your help with learning intarsia- i finally get it!!

I cant offer help on the sweater.

But I love the skull! Enough fru fru
I think its really cool that someone out there has the sense to make knitting really work for their personality. So often I have become a slave to the pattern and never really questioned if the design really presents the image I want to convey. You are way smarter than I am
