ok so this is the first swatch i knit after practicing the knit and purl stitches and binding off. let me know what u guys think and suggestions are certainly welcome.

i think you did a good job. you were able to create a good square. and your stitches look quite even. :yay:

i would like to start with a simple scarf and maybe add some fringe at the end.
i have bought a really cute yarn that is multi colored(purple, yellow, green, orange,and blue blend) so it will make the scarf multi colored without having the bind colors (since i’m a little intimidated by that technique)
i have a question about my swatch though. when i look at it(although you can’t see it in the picture) both sides look like garter stitch…i was trying to make a stockinette stitch by alternating knit and purl rows. maybe i am purling incorrectly??

If you knitted this in stockinette stitch it should be smooth on the other side.
