My first hat

Here is my first hat. I haven’t woven in the ends or blocked it yet. There are a few mistakes in the ribbing which don’t show here in the picture. I probably won’t wear it, but it was really good practice and I will definitely make it again. I’m thinking it would be a good Christmas gift for a few family members (in different colors). The pattern was relatively easy, and since I used Knitpicks Wool of the Andes it is really inexpensive to make. The pattern is here:

Wow - that is really great for a FIRST hat! The colors are wonderful!

Excellent job!! :happydance:

Oooh, that is gorgeous! :inlove:

I love the colors–so wintry, but the hat looks so warm!

Nice work! :cheering:

:cheering: Great job!! Love it!!

:cheering: :cheering: OUTSTANDING JOB, especially for your 1st hat!!!

That’s pretty darn impressive for a first hat! It looks great!

WOw! That looks good. And a first project. I suck at Fair isle. Good for you

I have to agree with everyone here, that is marvelous for a “first” hat. I would have to guess that this wasn’t your first experience w/ color work.

Thanks for the compliments. I should clarify that this was my second project. My first one was an afghan which was 63 squares of increasing complexity, so I learned a lot while knitting that. I did do some color work in the afghan, although not in the round and not quite as complicating as this hat that I just finished.
