My first hat

I found the pattern on Ravelry. It’s http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kmays-eyelet-lace-elegance-hat

This was my first hat, and it was very easy! I always thought my first hat would be knit in the round, but this was knit on straights and seamed up.

Pretty! :inlove: What yarn did you use?

LOVE IT! It looks like color 47 NORO Kureyon.

Close! It’s Noro Kureyon 55. My camera stinks!!!

Lovely hat and i love the colourway

Very nice … thanks for sharing!!

It looks great in that yarn!

:happydance: ohh very pretty!! You did a great job

Very nice hat!! Those yarns that do all that from one skein are so cool. Good job.

That looks great and your model looks terrific in it. The yarn is purty!!

Looks perfect!

:muah: Thanks, everyone!

Ronda- beautiful hat. I loved the yarn you used. Congrats

Ronda,

What a beautiful hat! Great job!

I am working on a hat now that is knit on straight needles and seamed up at the end. Can I ask how you did the seam up at the end? I’m not a Ravelry member so I couldn’t access that pattern. The pattern I am using says to do an overcast seam and I saw a link on how to do that (it looks like a regular sewing stitch to me), but I wondered how you did it?

:muah:

Rhonda,
Thats really, really, REALLY a cute hat! Great work!
By the way, thats a really, really REALLY cute model too!

Let me see if I can get you the pattern. It was free on Ravelry, but I think she has a website or a link for a PDF file.

Yes, here’s her website: http://kodymayknits.blogspot.com/2006/10/kmays-eyelet-lace-elegance-hat.html

To seam it up, I followed Amy’s video here: http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips under Finishing techniques. It’s the mattress stitch. I am NOT a sewer, so I was worried, but honestly, I can’t see a seam at all! With that variegated yarn, I was worried that it would show, but it IS invisible!!!

Thanks so much - I just finished up my first hat…a basic pattern but I am pretty happy with how it turned out! I’ll post pix once I figure out how to make them smaller…

Hugs to you!

Hats are so much fun, aren’t they? I like doing them for the quick results.

Very pretty!
