My friend’s baby shower is Sunday so I thought I would make a hat. I started Saturday and finished this morning. I don’t know why I haven’t made any hats before! They are so fun and quick!
I used Julie’s Cabled Baby Hat pattern. It was my first time doing cables and my first hat. I never realized how easy it would be. I used Artyarns Supermerino - less than 1 skein!

I think it’s beautiful! I have a pattern for a cabled hat with a peak that I want to knit for myself. After seeing how great your first one turned out, I think I’ll give it a go! Love the colours, too.

Paul, It was actually very easy to do the cables. I was quite surprised. There’s a bit of fiddling around but it gets easier as you go.
Slim, I love the Supermerino. It was my first time using it. I got in a swap here on KH. It is very soft and cushy. It’s not malabrigo, but still. And the colors are so vibrant.
Now I’m trying to find the perfect bootie pattern for the leftover yarn.
