My first felted project

My first felted project is this bag I just finished which will be a Christmas gift for my daughter. It was a quick and fun knit. I was hesitant to felt it on my own but I took the plunge and just did it. It was easier than I expected. The bag measured about 22" x 32" before felting and the finished product is 12" x 15".

Great looking bag. Plus isn’t it nice to get Christmas gifts done so early. I am almost finished knitting my daughter a sweater for Christmas. She tired to get it for her birthday but no way – I am not caving in.

How nice to have something done already for Christmas! It’s beautiful, love the yarn you used!

Great bag, your daughter will love it.

I am just doing my first Booga bag so was quite interested to see that your bag nearly halved in size.

Great bag! I love the colors you used – what is the yarn?

That’s a great bag, I’m sure she will love it!
What yarn did you use?

lucky girl!

I used Lion Brand wool. I picked that one because it said it was perfect for felting. I dont remember the name of the color but it was nice for a change to work with something colorful. I tend to go toward browns. This was fun. Thanks for looking.

Great Job and good luck holding out to give it to her until Christmas - that’s 6 months from now ! I am not very good at delaying gratification and tend to give things as I finish them…

I’m like that too, but not this time! I’m going to put it away and try not to even think about it till Christmas!

Very nice work!! Isn’t felting fun!!?? :cheering:

It was such fun that I just bought some yarn to make a felted hat for my granddaughter. This could get addicting!

that is so cool. wish I could do that. Dawn

You CAN! Go to the free patterns and pick a simple bag. This one is just stockinette front and back. sew them together. make 2 straps - felt it all until it is the size you want and poke holes for the straps and knot them. It doesnt need to be perfect because when you felt, it all shrinks and you wont see any mistakes. Good luck an post a pic when you’re finished

:happydance: it looks great and she will love it!

It turned out great!!! Doesn’t it feel so good to start getting Christmas gifts done early? Congrats!

yes it does! and in between the bigger projects i knit a dishcloth also for gift giving.

Nice job! I like the color. And good for you for getting a Christmas gift done so early!

That sure is a handsome bag! Felting is so easy, but scary in a way, too! Ya hafta have FAITH!
