I made this hat for my sister for her birthday. It’s a bit tight on me, since my head is way bigger than hers, but you get the idea. I guess it came out alright, except for that small part of the band that sticks up where my stitching was less than even. Figures I’d capture that part with the camera (D’oh!)
:cheering: First project? I’m impressed! Love the cable work. You have a very lucky sister. (And I think the peaks are just from the decrease method.) Very nice!!!
Well, first knitted object isn’t totally honest or accurate. It’s the first object that I’ve actually COMPLETED. I’ve done plenty of stuff that I’ve either torn apart or threw out, etc for practice.
Thanks for the comments! Does anyone know of a decrease method that doesn’t make that funky bump up top?
cool hat!!! good job!! well you can do that decrease leaving a hole on top…http://www.flickr.com/photos/mo0nangel/255677434/ but your hat truned out pretty awesome! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
That it is. It’s some fun stuff, but it’s pretty fuzzy (is that because of the mohair?), and I was sneezing a lot. hahahaha
Thanks for the kind words everyone, and I’ll check out that link Moonangel. Though I don’t believe a pompom is quite my sister’s style, thanks for the suggestion anyway.
What I do for the “bump” is to take one of my tiny crochet hooks and gently tug from the inside of the offending stitches, which would be on the inside of the hat. I usually do every other stitch, then depending on how it looks I will continue to do the rest. Sometimes just tugging on a part of each stitch. I never read this anywhere its just what I do.
