Well, my mom had coworker over at our house yesterday and mentioned to her that I have started knitting. Well, the coworker practically want bonkers and wants me to make her a whole bunch of dishcloths. Exact amount of payment is yet to be determined.
So yesterday I completed my very first washcloth, Checkerboard Washcloth. Looks pretty good, even if I do say so myself! :clink:
I never thought anyone would pay for something I can make.
How much would you ask someone to pay for a dishcloth? The cotton yarn was $1.50/ball … and I think I heard once that you should charge 5x the cost of the yarn to account for your effort/labor … but I can’t imagine someone paying $7.50 for a washcloth! Maybe $5 if you’re lucky???
I have never sold anything I have knit. I find it takes the “fun” out of it and turns it into a chore. When I am working on a gift, if it doesn’t work out right, I don’t feel badly about not giving it. If someone is paying for it and it doesn’t work out, you are stuck trying and trying until it does. Just my humble opinion.
