My dog had surgery! - Yet another CRAZY update, page 4

My beloved dog, Cisco, had surgery today. :pout: Back in March he had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his left elbow. Well, the bump came back. The vet wanted it removed immediately. We’re not sure if it is scar tissue, or if the original tumor is back. I gave him some pain medicine a little bit ago and he is resting comfortably. The recovery last time was slow, so I’m a bit worried about it this go-around. Not to mention I’m still waiting on biopsy results. And to top it all off, DH is out of town and I have to be nurse all by myself.

I’ve cried for 2 days straight. I just hope he is okay. Any positive thoughts/prayers would be greatly appreciated if you have the time.

you and your doggy are in my thoughts. Cisco looks to be in pretty good spirits, so hang in there. Give Cisco a little scratch behind the ears for me = )

Sending all the love and prayers for you and your beautiful Cisco.

:heart::heart:

Love and prayers to you and Cisco.

 I hope Cisco makes a fast recovery! Sorry you’re having to deal with this by yourself at the moment, I know it isn’t easy at all.

Many  and prayers headed your way.

I hope Cisco is feeling better soon. My puppers send all their slurpies (dog kisses).
If you want I could send him my Daisy’s new squeeky toy as a get well gift !! She picked it out at the food store this morning and has been squeeking it for 35min straight now. Who new the discount $1 toy would last that long !

Love and many prayers for you and your beauty, Cisco.

Sending my best for Cisco’s speedy recovery. Doesn’t it always seem that spouse is gone when you need them for emotional support. It’s hard for them to be far away when you need them though.

Sending my prayers to Cisco and to you for being able to stay strong and cope with it.

Wow, can I relate!!! A week ago Friday I had to rush my dog (who I adore) into the emergency vet. To make a long, long story short, he has the most severe case of pancreatitus they had ever seen! I transferred him to our vet on Monday morning (after giving the E Vet $1300!!! I almost needed the emergency room!) and he thought maybe he had swallowed a dish rag or something and did exploratory surgery on him and saw just this horrible pancreas. I cried for 6 days straight and tried to keep a brave face for the kids!!! Nobody thought he was going to make it! He is still at our vet’s office and has been hooked up to IV’s for 8 days now. It’s still touch and go but he is looking better every day. Nobody knows what is going to happen because nobody has ever seen a dog survive this! He has had no food or water by mouth for 9 days and the vet will try to feed him on Monday. My DH was out of town for some of this too! UGH! If he can keep food down on Monday it’s a good sign so we are praying like crazy. This whole thing is costing a fortune but what can we do??? We love the dog, right???

Anyway, I didn’t mean to gush on and on, it’s just been a really tough week and it’s nice to know others love their pets as much as we love ours!!!

 I hope your pup recovers quickly and the lump is nothing serious. You have a beautiful baby.

Aww, JJ  I’m sending Cisco speedy healing prayers and you prayers for strength.

I have pancreatitis and just read that in the cronic kind, they feed you with i.v. in order to let the pancreasis heal. I hope he eats today.

As you can see from the icky picture, the bottom part of Cisco’s wound has split open. He will be going in to the vet tomorrow morning for a skin graph. :pout: I’m crying. DH is still out of town and I have no emotional support right now. This is really tough. :waah:

Oh my gosh! That’s terrible! Did he chew at it or did something happen to make it open up like that?? I’m so sorry, I wish I could be there for you to help you through this. It’s just awful being alone and scared with a sick ‘fur-child’.

You poor thing.

OMG - I’m sooo sorry. Hope Cisco’s feeling better soon.

Oooh, poor Cisco and poor you! Hope he feels better soon!

I pray that with the skin graph, he will be fine. Hang in there. You are doing good, considering what he has been through.

So how’d the surgery go and how’s Cisco doing? Is your husband home to help you with your nursing duties?
