He has had his immune system shut down 2 times and this last time, his platelets were the last to come back. He was sent to San Francisco and while he was down there, they found a PERFECT match (10 out if 10!!) for a bone marrow transplant! He called me in tears, at first it scared me but when he told me, my tears started too. This has really been very rough on him, we all were raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses and he is bapitised and still goes. He had himself checked to see if he could do a bloodless bone marrow transplant but for some reason he can’t. He gets blood and platelets quite a bit, this is huge. He has been released from SF and is home now but he has to go back for the transplant on Nov. 5, stays in the hospital for at least 6 weeks and then has to stay in the Bay Area for another 4 months. My SIL bought him a portable DVD player for his room and my mom is loaning him, for the entire time he is down there, her laptop computer. They need to upgrade it as it has WIN 98 on it and he wants it to be wireless but it will get done!
I can’t wait for 6 months to pass so he can get back to driving truck! (I keep telling him about Mason but he refuses to learn how to knit!)
