That sounds painful. I’ve tried two on one circular and I don’t care for it. It loses it’s portability, but some people love it. I haven’t knit socks for awhile, but the best way I found was two at a time on circulars… BUT on two separate circs so they are not connected. For instance you start one and do the toe, the pick up the other and do the toe. Then pick up the other and do the foot, etc… you end up with two socks finished, but you can easily just take one with you and leave the other home or in your bag.
That said I do know people who like two at time on one circ so it’s personal choice.
OK! Lifestyle Toe Up Socks - No Swatch Needed took the mystery out of sock knitting for me. My biggest concern was fit and still is. I’d looked at videos and patterns till I was so in overload I just about abandoned the whole idea. I was not interested in making socks that didn’t fit, didn’t trust the patterns to fit my foot (long, narrow, skinny arch, long toes) and when I saw “no swatch” that did it. First pair fit. Second pair fit better. Every pair I’ve made has fit the foot it was made for. I do add gussets which I don’t recall the original “pattern” including.
