My 7yr olds knitting attempt

I just thought i would share with you all what my 7yr old son made .
While i was finishing the seed stitch dress Luke asked me how i did my knitting . He said he wanted to try . So i showed him the basic purl stitch .
I cast on 10 stitches for him and he purled about 2 inches and then he actually cast off lol . He then went a bit overboard and put buttons on it and then went and gave it to his daddy telling him to carry it in his wallet lol:rofl: . Hubby did as he was told lol .
What do you think? Another knitter for the future ?

You I think he’s caught your knitting bug… :teehee:

That is adorable too! LOVE it!

How sweet is that?! Totally cool that he went all out with the buttons!

Thanks Nathalie , . If he could have fitted anymore buttons on there i am sure he would have lol

That is so cute Rita. You had better watch your stash. Could we have another KH male knitter in the making?

That’s pretty impressive ! Love those buttons. My nephew is very artistic and always watches my mom crochet, but hasn’t quite got the coordination yet.

I am watching my stash like a hawk lol . But seriously ! i think it is great that he even asked nevermind done it.
Saying that though , He is back to doing the normal boy things today lol

That is just wonderful!

Bambi

Awesome! Looks like we have another knitting guy!

LOL Mason ! you better watch out  :roflhard:

:happydance: he did a great job!!

That is way cool ! You must be so proud sis:)

I think this is so sweet, I can just imagine him sitting there concentrating! I bet John was secretly quite chuffed with his gift.

He’ll be pinching your knitting magazine’s and all sorts now!

OHHHH NOOOOOOOO i forgot the magazines lol. Must find a new hidey hole

AWW so cute and he embellished!!

Go Luke!!! What am amazing first project…I LOVE it! :cheering: :yay: :woot:

I am impressed. I have tried to show both of my boys and they just didn’t get it, just couldn’t get the coordination to do it and they are 7 & 10. Of course the oldest was determined not to do it so I am sure he wasn’t trying very hard. Your DS did a great job on his first project. Now he can make all his friends little bookmarks for Christmas.

Rita, what a cute little first FO. It’s so much fun to watch kids explore as they learn.

You know what the coolest part is? Your husband put it in his wallet, good on him!

That’s awesome! I love the buttons!

That is so cool ! . You should be so proud .
