Can someone explain these to me ----how- why - And when to use them
like multipes of 6 plus 5 :??

Multiples are basically taking 6 multipled by a multiple of 6

example

6 x 4 = 24

You can do this with ANY number. Take the number and multiply it by a multiple of that number.

Stitch patterns give multiples so you know how many to cast on if you want to make a certain number of repeats of the pattern and have it come out evenly. A multiple of 6 plus 5 would be any multiple of 6, plus 5 more stitches, so 6 x 2 + 5, or 6 x 3 + 5, etc.
