There is a scarf pattern that I really like by maryann wash on “knitting on the Net” that is a mock cable.
It is printed in multiples of ten., and I would like to have it 20 stitches wides so would I just repeat each row once? or if it starts with “p4 i do p8” Thank you! It does not list the needle size or yarn-looks like worsted to me-size 10?
thank you so much

Can you give the link, please?
This is the pattern - http://www.knittingonthenet.com/stitches/mockcable.htm - a link is more useful information. As you can see, the edge sts change each row (p4, p3, p2, p1) so you can’t just double them. So I think repeating the sts once would work, you’d have to try it out to see. Size 10 needles would be fine with worsted weight yarn; it’s larger than most people normally knit this yarn on, but it’s a scarf so it can be knit a little looser.
Thank you suzeeQ for supplying the link, and the information.
did you see anywhere on thae site that it supplied type of yarn and amount and size needle? Maryann has quite a few patterns on there that are nice.
Thanks again!

These are just stitch patterns and can be knit with any weight yarn or needle size. You decide which size makes the stitch look best with the yarn and pattern. As I said, this one in worsted weight on size 10s would come out great. It may be a bit dense for size 8 or 9s.
