I always make my own prints and graphics (like animal, pictures or letters) and the two colours side by side don;t seem to join up. If I’m doing a block of colour, the one colour seems on it’s own compared to the base colour, and it creates a sort-of lip. I tried looping the new colour around the nearest base colour stitch but it sometimes creates an uneven tension. Any thoughts beside stitching it down after? Thanks!
I always twist or overlap the old and new working yarns by bringing the new color up over the old color. The tension stays the same and any thickness is not noticeable. This video explains it pretty well but there are also others out there if you Google intarsia video.
Oh my, I wish I knew about this years ago ! I didn’t even know it was called intarsia. Thanks so much!
