Mother Bear Project seaming

I wish I had looked at KH before I started this bear. I would have used Jan’s seamless pattern if I had. However, I am having some trouble with seaming. I am using the pattern in Knitting For Peace. The pattern says, [FONT=Fixedsys]Fold bear in half along the middle of the head section, [COLOR=#ff0000]right sides facing out. [/COLOR][FONT=Verdana][COLOR=black]Is this correct?[/COLOR][/FONT][/FONT]

Yes, always seam with the right side up. This way the bulk of the seam will be on the wrong side. Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks, I don’t have a lot experience with seaming. I guess I don’t understand how to use the mattress stitch on an non-flat object. I would greatly appreciate any help.
