Mosaic Crib Blanket

I haven’t been on in a long time and this is the first thing I have knit in many months. Been doing other things. But my granddaughter asked me to make a blanket for the baby she is expecting in December so I had to get back at it. I wanted to use yarn I had on hand so needed something with more than one color. I went with mosaic patterns. They are in one of Barbara Walker’s stitch books. I’ve never done much with mosaic before, but this was kind of fun. This is just good ole Red Heart, but I think it worked up nicely and is nice and soft after a wash and run through the dryer.

Mosaic for anyone who might not know kind of has a result like stranded knitting, but it isn’t. You never work with more than one color in a row and get the color change effect by slipping stitches.

Wow! That is really super!

Too cool! I love the colors and the way it all goes together and works together. This blanket should serve well for many babies! Beautiful!

Beautiful!

Sensational! I had no idea that mosaic knitting is not stranded.

Nice to see you here again! That is a gorgeous blanket! I love mosaic knitting. I’ve only done a hat though.

Congratulations on your soon to arrive grandbaby! He or she is lucky to have such a gorgeous blanket and a grandmomma who loves them enough to knit it!

Judy, it’s exquisite! I am just bowled over. Gorgeous colors and patterns that look like they should be hanging on a gallery wall.

Definitely a Blue Ribbon winner!

Judy

That is really gorgeous! I really love it.:muah:

Hi Judy! So nice to see you here again! I’ve missed you, and your wonderful work, a lot! This crib blanket is yet another masterpiece of knitting, as is all of your work! Very resourceful, too! Here we are, knitting for great-grandchildren! Where does the time go?

Thank you! This is what it looks like on the back.

Thank you Jan. I can only remember doing a mosaic hat previously as well.

The reverse side Is Very Pretty And Tidy!

I agree! Marigold, you’ve got an eye for color and pattern. You’re a true artist.

Thanks for the info about the books. I just placed a hold on Barbara Walker’s Mosaic Knitting at the library.

   You have to let us know when you pick it up!!! That is very exciting!

Thanks, Claire, I’ll try to remember. I don’t know when it will be available here in Podunk, WA. LOL I found there are a few books about knitting available for ereaders even.

That’s amazing, so nice:thumbsup: , love it!!!

Taint no Podunk, WA :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Are you telling me you live in the middle of nowhere? I used to live in Bellingham.
