More Rona Lace Shawl Questions

I’m posting this because honestly, I don’t know if the error is with the pattern, or with me. I can humbly accept it if it is in fact a PEBKAN error (PEBKAN: Problem Exists Between Knitter And Needle), but after being screwed over by Knitpicks once already on this pattern, I’m questioning the old mantra of “trust the pattern”.

(Knitpicks sent me this pattern in early 2008, and the copy I received lacked the 2006 revisions, let alone the April 2008 revisions. I assumed I was using the latest revision until someone pointed out otherwise, after I was 85% of the way through the blasted shawl!)

My issue is with the following rounds. A stitch is created in round 102, and in subsequent odd numbered rows a k2 is part of the end of each repeat. These two knit stitches form a stem coming from the top of the chevron peaks in the previous pattern section. In round 111, they seem to ignore these k2 stitches and the flanking yo’s which were subsequently knit in the even numbered row. If I knit round 111 as written, everything is off by 1 stitch. What am I missing? Am I reading this improperly?

Round 102: *K18, V so there will be 2 sts in top of point. Repeat
from * to end of round. (19)
Round 103: *(yo, k5, yo, k1)2 times, yo, k5, yo, k2. Repeat from *
to end of round. (25)
Round 104: Knit.
Round 105: *Yo, k1, (yo, SKP, k1, k2tog, yo, SK2P)2 times, yo,
SKP, k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k2. Repeat from * to end of round. (23)
Round 106: Knit.
Round 107: *(yo, k3, yo, SK2P)3 times, yo, k3, yo, k2. Repeat
from * to end of round. (25)
Round 108: Knit.
Round 109: *(yo, k5, yo, k1)3 times, yo, k5, yo, k2tog. Repeat
from * to end of round. (32)
Round 110: Knit.
Round 111: S(1)RHN, *(SKP, k1, k2tog, yo, SK2P, yo)2 times.
Repeat from * to end of round (12) There are now 48 pattern
repeats.

I’m only guessing from your instructions and past experience but when you do the : S(1)RHN, doesn’t that jog your entire round 111 over by one stitch?

Yeah… but funnily enough I don’t know that this is the source of the problem.

Looking at my work, I have, after the S(1)RHN, five stitches that make up one “lozenge”. There are four such ‘lozenges’ in each section, enclosed by k4, formed two rows back as a yo, k2, yo. These lozenges are also punctuated in between by three stitches, built on a yo k1 yo, which form the SK2P in round 111. When it asks for the repeat, I run into a problem with the fourth iteration of (SKP, k1, k2tog, yo, SK2P, yo). This last SK2P falls on the k2 stem of previous rows. I have a yo on either side of k2 which is knit in the last round. This SK2P involves the knitted yo on the right of the k2, but not the yo on the left, leaving me with six stitches instead of five in the next ‘lozenge’ - one more than I should have.

If I omit the S(1)RHN, I end up with it being even more off.
