More of a "what would you do?" question

After having to put Tubey aside for a while, I decided I want to knit a shrug. I’m going to do it like Tubey without the body (except without the provisional cast on…I’m just going to knit one side to the other). The thing is, since I’m doing it all one color, I’m thinking maybe it should have a lace pattern in it. If I follow the Tubey pattern, I’ll be using 55 stitches for the bottoms of the sleeves and 50 for the back, but I’m willing to make them multiples of four or six or whatever…My question is, which lace pattern would you use? I’m not really going for “functional and warm,” so lots of holes wouldn’t matter. I’m using Lion Brand Wool-Ease worsted and size 8 needles. Thanks.

Are you wanting an overall lace pattern, or just lace on the sleeves, or maybe just on the cuffs? Wow, there are so many options!

ooooo, misstialouise is making a drop stitch shrug. If you go over to “whatcha knitting” look for her thread about “emergency shrug” That maybe exactly what you are after!
