Mmmm help please

i got my order from now and zen yarns today and i’m trying to “undo” one of my mmmm hanks. (this next part is going to sound elementary only because i care about the yarn more than the technical terms. :teehee:) i’ve got the yarn untwisted and in the big open circle. i cut the loop of yarn with the tag that was holding one side together. i would cut the loop of yarn on the other side except it looks like one part of the loop actually joins the regular yarn. plus i can’t seem to find the beginning of the yarn unless cutting the “odd” loop creates the beginning. i figure with all the mmmm lovers at KH there should be someone who has seen what i’m talking about. anybody?
i’ve got 3 hanks and 1 big open circle waiting for me to wind them (with a very sturdy paper towel tube ;)).

If I recall correctly, you need to cut off that second knot to undo the yarn. Be careful winding it, though. Have someone hold it or put it over so chair rails or something–it likes to stick to itself.

so if i just cut straight across through all four tails coming out of the knot i won’t have shreds of yarn falling away? i just want to make extra sure what with it being mmmm and all. :teehee:

I believe if you cut off the knot, you’ll have the two ends of the yarn there.

thanks Ingrid!
right now i’m actually winding up a hank of KP shadow and it was tied up the same way. they had used a different color to tie it up so it was a little more obvious what i was supposed to do. i was actually able to untie the knot attached to the two ends without cutting it. i’ll attempt the mmmm tomorrow when my brain is “fully there” again. :teehee:

thanks again! :muah:
