When I knit in the round using dpns I usually can arrange my stitches so I can place a stitch marker on and know where the beginning of each round begins. How would I do this using Magic Loop method? I have been dividing the stitches in half which means the beginning of my round is on one of the needles at all time but I can’t remember which one that is. What do you do? Do you rearrange your stitches so you can place a marker at the beginning of your round?
I usually make the beginning of round where the tail from the cast on is. You can also just put a safety pin right below the stitch on the needle that is the beginning of the round.
You can do it the same way you do for dpns, and the beg of round doesn’t have to be the first st on the needle, it can be on the 2nd or 3rd st or anywhere along it.
I keep a stitch marker “floating” where the needle curves. I have the front half of the work on half of the needle, then the marker (yes, I realize this marks the halfway point and not the beginning/end) and then the back half of the work on the other side. But, I can distinguish front from back, and that is the point. If it’s still not clear, I place another marker at the beginning/end too.
I often look at questions that were asked to help me out… this was a suggestion that I will in my knitting.
