Misty Morn Vintage Glove Pattern

I found the perfect pattern via KnitWiki, the Misty Morn gloves (http://www.knitting-and.com/wiki/Misty_Morn_Gloves_(Vintage)). I’ve done the cuff, and got to the increases for the thumb. No big deal, or so I thought.

After Round 12, it states “Continue in this way, increasing into the knit stitch immediately after and before the purl stitches which mark the thumb gusset in every third round until there are 14 stitches between the purl stitches. Work three rounds without increasing.” and this is where I am stuck.

Does this mean when I finish Round 12, I follow the pattern for 2 stitches, kfb, p1, kfb, knit any knit stitches here, kfb, kfb, p1, kfb, then pattern to the end?

I’m currently knitting this on size 2 DPNs, using some Red Heart yarn I use for practicing patterns. The cuff looks great, and the start of the pattern too. It’s just at the thumbs I flub it up. (This is indeed my first time knitting gloves)

I think you inc [I]after[/I] the first purl st and [I]before[/I] the last one, not before and after both. The purl sts are like markers and you would inc between markers if using them instead.

I knew it would be something simple like that. Then just knit all the way across the thumb so it’s in st st like the rest of the fingers. I can’t thank you enough for this… This pattern was making the silver Rogue patch in my hair grow lol…
