Mis-print in pattern, help?

I’m currently finishing a hat for a friend, and the pattern I’m using seems to be a bit messy. There is an extra asterisk in the row that I’m knitting, so it’s throwing me for a loop. Here is the section of the pattern. The messy row is bolded.

Row 16: (dec) p1, k1, p2, (k1, k2tog) 4 times, p2, k1, p1 k3tog repeat to 5 times (85
stitches)
Row 17&18: (k1, p1) twice, k8, (p1, k1) 2 times, p1 repeat to 5 times
Row 19&20: p1, k1, p2, k8, p2, k1, p1 k1 repeat to 5 times
Row 21: (work cables) (k1, p1) twice, C4F, C4B, (p1, k1) 2 times, p1 repeat to 5 times
Row 22: (dec) k1 p1, k1, p1, k2, k2tog, k2tog, k2, p1, k1, p1, k3tog* repeat to 5 times,
NB: include the first stitch of the next round into the last k3tog, reposition this stitch marker to
after this decreased stitch (65 stitches)
Row 23&24: k1, p2, k6, p2, k1, p1 * repeat to 5 times
Row 25: (work cables) p1, k1, p1 C3F, C3B, (p1, k1) twice * repeat to 5 times
Row 26: (dec) p1, k1, p1, k1 k2tog, k2tog, k1, p1, k1, p3tog repeat to 5 times, NB: include
the first stitch of the next round into the last p3tog, reposition this stitch marker to after this
decreased stitch (45 stitches)

Which asterisk do I repeat from? And I’m also not exactly sure how to include the first stitch of the next round into the last k3tog.

Much thanks.

The pattern works if you leave out the second asterisk:
Row 22: (dec) k1 p1, k1, p1, k2, k2tog, k2tog, k2, p1, k1, p1, k3tog repeat to 5 times, (65sts)
When you work the last repeat, you’ll get to the k3tog and only have 2sts left unworked. So take your marker off the needle, use the next st as part of the k3tog. The replace the marker after the k3tog. I think this will become clearer as you work the actual sts.
Good luck with the finishing on this hat!
