This is miniature knitting I just HAD to share.
I knew about small scale knitting and such, all that tooth pick work and everything. But this lady really takes it to a whole nother dimension…

What do you think?

That is mental!
I thought I was a nutter, maybe I should adjust my thinking :roflhard:

she looks SO happy and accomplished, though. And those pieces would be a hell lot of work in ANY size! But this is truely insane!

Needles the diameter of a human hair…more power to her. No thanks, I’ll keep my regular needles and yarn.

yup, those needles sound tiny. But I guess it puts sewing needles to a good use

That, that, that is…I’m speechless! I watched the video yesterday and still haven’t come up any words! Just can’t imagine…

@kitty and Jan:

Neat! I actually have a set of size 000000 knitting needles that I bought at a miniatures shop down the road from where I live. The little shop was here for years, and I always loved going there to look at all the tiny masterpieces of houses, furniture, dolls, clothing, and every other little thing you can find in a normal sized house.

Now the shop is closed…probably because most people buy their stuff on eBay now. I miss going there to see it all.

I bought a “Mini Knits” book at AC Moore once, and placed my tiny knitting needles inside the book. That’s as far as I’ve gone into miniature knitting. :teehee:

I did knit a Barbie dress once. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. I still need to sew on the tiny buttons, though.

But that lady’s miniature sweaters are UNBELIEVABLE! I could NEVER knit anything like that. :thud:

Absolutely speechless!! My first thought was HOW can she SEE what she’s doing??? I could never do this, but I guess she enjoys it!!

oh my goodness!! can’t imagine knitting a regular sized sweater with such detail!! linknit41

wow … to each their own I guess. Not my thing but if it makes her happy …

I’m going to have to watch Coraline again and check out the sweaters. I didn’t really think about someone having to knit small clothes like that for a movie. Very cool and very beautiful. I wonder how long it would take her to knit a regular sweater.

Wow! :noway:

You never really think about all the “behind the scenes” work like that when it comes to movies … very cool!

Hi! :waving:

This might sound nutso, but I actually found myself really relaxing while I was watching this video! It could have been the music or the absolutely serene aura the knitter presented…

Or I could have been in shock!!! :chair:

Either way, thanks for sharing this!

Ruthie

I tried pins and thread once. I dropped too many stitches.
