:?? How did I miss this. I would be happy to be a knitter for the baby blanket project.

Hello again everyone! :waving:

We now have definite leaders for your region.

The Midwest territory has been separated into 3 groups:

Midwest Great Lakes Baby Blankets - Led by traceleighj
(Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio)

Midwest Great Plains Baby Blankets - Led by kellyh57
(North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska)

Midwest Preemie Blankets - Led by stagebear
(entire Midwest)

Congratulations, ladies!! :muah:

By the way, I need your help Midwesterners. I’ve been looking online, and it seems that Minnesota is being claimed by Great Plains sometimes, and by Great Lakes other times. Can you help me figure out where it actually belongs?

I would say Great Lakes:teehee:

In group organizations, I’ve always seen it as grouped with the Dakotas and Iowa rather than Wisconsin.

:roflhard: See what I mean?
I STILL don’t know where to put Minnesota. :teehee:

sorry - i was confusing in that response. what i meant in the end is that i usually put it in the plain.

Right…and momwolf said Great Lakes. :teehee:
So, just like I’ve seen everywhere else, Minnesota is claimed by both areas.

lol - I had missed her response. I’d go with whatever the Minnesotans say then.
(I guess we differ since she’s closer to WI and I’m in ND across the river from MN.)

Well this has been a challenge to find out where my state belongs.:tap: This is what I came up with
Great Plains

The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition | Date: 2008

Great Plains extensive grassland region on the continental slope of central North America. They extend from the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba south through W central United States into W Texas. In the United States the Plains include parts of North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas.

Map wise we are Great Lakes Region

In most written information the top half is Great lakes and the middle and lower half is Great Plains. So I’m in the Great Lakes region and Minneapolis is Great Plains. I know I’m no help.Didn’t realize the state was divided.Just always thought we were Great Lakes region because we bordered Lake Superior

OK, so it looks like it’s Great Plains?

I’ll check in the other discussion thread as well, and see what everyone there is saying.

OK…no one has said anything in the other discussion thread.

I just looked at my list, and I wish I could put Minnesota in the Great Lakes region. This would exactly split the Midwest into the same number of states. (6 states for each region)

If I put Minnesota in the Great Plains region, then that region has 7 states, and the other one has 5. :pout:

Would you mind terribly if I put Minnesota in the Great Lakes region? I mean, there was already confusion about the correct region anyway…so I guess we can put it wherever we want. :teehee:

Heck no it will work out better that way cause our leader lives in MN.Like I said I always say we ARE the great lakes region

Just got home from work and saw this and it had me chuckle a little! Either way, I can hand deliver a blanket to Momwolf on my camping trip this fall :waving:

That wood be so neat!!!

OK, then it’s official.

According to the needs of the Knitting Help Forum, Minnesota is a Great Lakes state.
