Great progress and carefully worked. This is such fun to see step-by-beautiful step.
To me, this looks like she’s seamed the back right and pinned the back left. Is that not the case?
Yep that’s what I think I’ve done. As I’ve attached the sleeves to the back first but left the left saddle shoulder open.
So that will work well, if you want to knit the neckband flat and seam it later.
Yes, i only meant half seamed as i thought keeping fully open there might have been the plan to allow it to open up as much as possible for flat knitting. But the ‘plan’ has various options so really I don’t know the plan.
What i do know is there are many times i get carried away seaming or knitting and then realise i did more than i wanted.
Ahhh I understand what you mean now, you were referring to me half seaming the left sleeve.
Well to quote Phoebe from friends if you’ve ever seen that “I don’t even have a pla” ![]()
However what I can tell you is that i’ve finished another seam!! Things aren’t completely symmetrical but I’m happy.
I think my next step will be to seam the front left sleeve and then potentially unseam the half done left back.
Dad’s had a go trying it on and he’s very excited to wear it!!
It’s looking great!
You could baste the half open seam for a good try on when the front is finished, as a neck hole trial.
I don’t think you need to undo what you’ve done of the left back seam. You’ve got plenty of room to knit the neckband, and having it seamed as it is will keep it from flopping around so much. I say, give it a try, and you can always undo that bit later if it’s not working.
So happy to see this at the last steps. You are a champ!
Look at it taking shape! ![]()
