Matching wrist warmers for this scarf?

No problem. Thanks very much!

I’m just using a plain blue for mine :slightly_smiling_face:

So, I knitted the scarf and I’m really pleased with it.

The mitten not so much…

I decided to be clever and knit one that has a thumb gusset, rather than just go for wrist warmers. The mitten itself I’m really pleased with, but I don’t think the yarn over works because it’s a tight knit in st st.

So now I have three options.

  1. Leave it as it, make a second to match and know that MiL will still appreciate it because she also knits.

  2. Rip it out/rink it and start again trying garter stitch instead (I kept with st st originally because she walks the dogs a few times a day and thought this would catch less).

  3. Make a “hood” for the mitten to slip over the fingers, (which was an option I was considering anyway) and knit it on where the yo row is(i.e. cheat and hide it ).

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I’d probably go with option 2. Garter, also blocking will help show the pattern in the middle.

Or just do some garter rows around the drop stitch. That would work.

A few rows of garter could be good. Thank you.

Nice thumb gusset! Something i haven’t tackled yet (v. Scary).

I agree some garter stitch would look nice.
Will you put in a life line to protect your thumb gusset?

The scarf is beautiful.

If you have yarn left-over you might consider boot toppers. Or perhaps save the left over yarn for a colour project in the future when younhave a variety of different left over yarns to use.

Thank you. I’ll have loads of yarn lol. Almost 400g. I’ll keep it for something in the future I think.

Finally finished the redone mitten. I just ripped it out and started again.

It took me a while to work out how to put the pattern in the middle as I had to work it out. First time I’ve had to do that. The pattern is only on the top, the palm side is plain stocking. So I need to mirror it now. But I’ve enjoyed doing it.

And yes, life lines all the way along this time

Thank you. I’m pretty pleased with it, but think I’ll wait until tomorrow to start the other one, I’m exhausted

Awesome, that looks fantastic. Well done :grinning:

Thanks all  I’ll start, and hopefully finish the other mitten tomorrow. Provided I understand my own instructions

Haha, @Creations, I’m already working on adapting a hooded scarf design for my DiL lol.

Hooded scarf sounds great! Can’t wait to see it.
