Market Bag

I am making this bag. I am on row 11, but how do I cast on through back loops? Additionally, I don’t understand how to do the next part of the pattern to avoid the gap (even the long explanation). Is there a video that can teach me how to do this part properly?

A backward loop cast on is sometimes called a thumb loop cast on. You could use a knit or cable cast on both of which are a bit sturdier. Anyway, here is the backward loop:

The pattern for the market back is suggesting switching the place of the 11th knit stitch with the next stitch (the first bind off stitch) and then proceeding to knit one, begin the bind off.
