I am almost done making toe socks. This is my first sock adventure and man I am confused. Pattern goes as follows:
Rearrange sts for toes as follows 15 on 1st and 3rd needle, 30 on 2nd needle.
To make 1st toe (big toe): Miss first 15 sts on first needle. Rejoin MC and K9 from from 2nd needle. Slip all but last 9 sts onto a thread. Turn. Cast on 4 sts. Turn. Knit last 9 sts. Divide these sts onto 3 needles.
Where is it wanting me to cast on. Before the already knitted stitches in the middle or behind the stitches that aren’t knitted yet.
Welcome to KH!
Knit 9sts from the 2nd needle and place all sts on scrap yarn exept the 9sts you’ve just knit. Take the needle with the sts in your left hand and cast on 4sts using a cable or knit cast on. Turn again so that the right side (the side of the sock that will show when you wear them) is facing you. As you look at the sts there’ll be the 9 knit sts and on the left, the 4 cast on sts ending with the working yarn…
At this point it seems that you need to arrange the sts on 3 needles, join to knit in the round and then knit the 9sts.
What do the instructions say to do next?
