Making straight needle pattern circular?

I want to use a ruffle from ‘Knitting on the edge’ on a skirty that is being knit in the round. I’m having trouble with making this work. Is there a trick to using a pattern written for straight needles on work in the round?

It calls for a multiple of 5 sts plus 4 (I have 124 on my needle now)
Row 1(rs) K3 *inc 1 twice, K3; rep from *, end last rep K4
Row 2 and all WS: Purl

I’m getting stuck at the end of row one, and still don’t know what to do on row 2. Please help!!

For the “wrong side” rows, you’d just knit one round. I’m not sure what the “inc 1 twice” means.

Inc 1 twice could mean either a double inc (like k1, yo, k1 in the same stitch) or kfb in each of the next 2 sts.

Yes, the index of the book indicates that the ‘inc’ is a kfb per given times (inc 1 twice is kfb kfb).
Thanks for the help. I was so confused :hair:
