Making socks without a pattern

So being the go getter that I am, I decided to work my first sock without a pattern because they all seemed to small. Well now I am stuck on how to turn the heel, I am not sure how many rows to use and how many to purl and so forth.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be much appreciated!

This should get you working.

This is what I use. Make sure you save it/print it out as about half way through the month the site goes down due to so many people accessing it.
