Making booties, have question about foot part

K18 turn, p9 turn
On 9st, work 12 rows stockinette stitch.
Break yarn.

With RS facing, (9st on needle), pick up 10 st along side of foot,9st from toe, 10 st along side of foot, 9st on needle. (47st). Work 6 rows stockinette stitch starting with a purl row.

My question is mostly about the breaking of the yarn. Do I just cut the yarn? Do I have to weave it through anything, so it doesn’t unravel? I’ve never done anything that goes on a foot before!

Just cut the yarn and leave about a 6 inch thread. You can leave it until you’re done and then weave in whatever ends are left.
