So here I am knitting away on a easy pattern for a doll blanket. I am using a place mat and it calls for yo and purl 2tog. I think I have done it right but not sure. Has anyone ever done a yo on a purl side. I kind of wrap the yarn around the top of the needle between and then knit the 2tog purlwise.
Any help will be so welcomed
Sounds like you are doing it right to me. because your yarn is in front already you go over the needle, then between the needles to return to “ready” position. When you are going from yarn in back to a purl you have to go between the needles, over the needle and then back between the needles to be ready to purl, but since you started with yarn in front you just complete the circle. if that makes sense.
Yep, that’s right. You just wrap the yarn around the needle as if you were making a purl stitch, only the right needle isn’t inserted into any other stitch.
I’m working on a piece with yo’s on the purl side. I do those up over the top of the needle on the back and then down the front side. They end up working fine on the knit side of the work.
Thanks everyone for the advice. Seems I am doing it right then.
Funny I have never seen a yo on a purls side. So now I will finish it and have learned something new to me.
