I’ve looked and looked, and I can’t find anything on how to do this. Maybe I’m just stupid, and I’m the only one who can’t figure out how to do it on my own, but I decided to ask for help. I’ve been dyeing my own yarn, but I don’t know how to twist the yarn into a skein when I’m finished. I have a ball winder and a swift, but I’d rather make skeins than balls with my finished yarn. Can anyone give me any help?
Once you have the yarn wrapped so it’s in a large circle–like you would put on your swift, put a hand in each end and twist it with one hand until it’s tight. Then relax your hold and let it twist up on itself and tuck one end into the other.

I was looking for a picture that shows how to finish the skein neatly (because I am sure you want your finished skein to look like the picture below). Thisis the best I could find.
That’s how you do it - tuck one loop inside the other and there you go!
