Make sure reverse decrease is even

Okay, on the left front of the sweater I’m making, I k2, k2tog, finish row every other row until…

ON the right front, to make it even using ssp, do I
p to last 4 sts, ssp, p2
OR
p to last 3 sts, ssp, p1?

I’ve tried both and doing the first, the decrease seems a bit wide, but doing it the second way, it’s too narrow, compared with the left side.

Is there a better option? The how-to videos indicate this is the best method…:wall:

THANKS!

It seems that to keep the decreases symmetrical, you’d end with the p2 (since the RS ends with a k2).

Have you tried working a few rows to get a sense of the decreases in a kind of overall effect? Sometimes the result is different that just looking at a row or two.

Yes; In fact I frogged 14 rows of the p2, thinking it was too wide. Then I did 6 rows of p1 and it looked too narrow! :frog: Of course, i was comparing it to the left side that I have already blocked. Would that make THAT big of a difference?
