Magic Loop

I watched a video on the magic loop method- cool! Anyway, I wanted to make this dishcloth pattern. Doesn’t magic loop just create a tube? So I just don’t quite understand how this pattern works.

I make flat projects using magic loop all the time. Doilies, round wash cloths, e.t.c I usually start with the crochet magic circle then transfer the stitches to my needles. With this pattern you are working in the round but your end product will be a square. You will be putting a square peg in a round hole so to speak.

Ordinarily magic loop would allow you to knit a tube but for this pattern, the increases are so frequent and placed so that it will give you a square. Give it a try.
