Magic loop booties?

Anyone have a pattern? I’ve found seamless booties, but I think they are done on DPNs.

 You could do the cuff part with magic loop, but I don’t know how you’d get all the shaping done.

I think I might have to do that. I know you can make socks using magic loop…I have a booklet and I know Jessi has made socks that way. I’m not quite experienced enough to go of on my own and do it though so I was looking for a pattern.

The only thing I’m thinking of is that you usually work the instep on a single needle and then pick up stitches along the sides and top and then continue to knit the foot.

Anything that is worked in the round can be done using magic loop, you just have to be a bit creative!! Generally, I don’t think there are many patterns at all written specifically for magic loop anyways so you have to adapt. When I have done it, for socks, when I get to the heel flap portion I just keep those half of the stitches on the needle and the rest just stay on the cable of the circular needle. Then when it comes time to pick up stitches, you just continue on with the needle you’d been working with, keep going with the ones that have been on hold on the cable, pick up the other side and you’re good to go. It DOES work, trust me!!!

Thanks all! I wrote the pattern designer and she said that yes, it could be done and she’s done it herself that way so I trust her. :roflhard: I just made one little tube sock bootie as soon as I’m done with the other one then I’ll try these.

Jan, if you need help as you go along, give me a shout because I’ve done magic loop on lots of different items.

Thanks! I’ve done a lot of hats with it, but I’ve made socks or something that needed shaping like this.
