Magic loop 2 socks at once

I’m making yoga socks (no toes and no heal) 2 socks at once on magic loop. pattern called for binding off 18 stiches, rib to end of rnd. Did that on both socks and now I need to Cast on 18 and rejoin in rnd and can’t figure out how to continue. Should I have BO and cast on on first sock before moving on the the 2nd? If anyone has any thoughts, please help. Thank you.

Let’s see if I got this right. You have two socks on the needles, you have done the 18 st. BO on the first one and continued to do the BO on the second one, so you’re still working in the round. So far so good! Go ahead and work the tops of the socks as normal. When you get back to where the heel would have been were you doing it, use a knitted or cable cast on to add the stitches back. Just move the right needle to your left hand to do the CO. Do the same CO for the second sock, then just continue working in the round as before. When you get back to the “heel” you’ll have the CO stitches to knit into.
