In the event I do not have two circulars of the same size, can I use the magic cast on method on dpn’s? If so, how would I do that?
Do you mean how do you knit on DPNs? The cast on is done the same way. Once you try it I’m sure it’ll make sense.
I use one circ do do the magic cast on. The only problem I can see using dpn would be that with the stitches on the needle and not the cable it could be a bit difficult to work the first round but I think you could do it.
Thank you both for your quick response. I found a video on Youtube that shows how to use dpn’s for the magic cast on. I will try it. I’m relatively new to knitting and the magic cast on will be a first for me. I guess after I do it a few times, it will get easier. Seems much more difficult with dpn’s but don’t want to run out to purchase another circular. Thanks again, both of you.
Is there a reason you can’t use both ends of one circular needle? Is it too short? There are other cast on methods you can use also.
