Machine washable wool afghan

Now that DH and I have repainted DD bedroom, she wants me to knit her
a big afghan in matching colors. I want to do it in a 100@ wool that is
machine washable. Actually, will be doing two of them. DH wants one
for his den.
So, does anyone have suggestions for a good quality/ medium priced
wool and some websites with a good color selection.

A few that I know of:

Lamb’s Pride Superwash

Cascade 220 Superwash (softer than the LP, IMHO)

Classic Elite Bazic (bulkier)

Dale of Norway Freestyle

Another Option is Lion Brand Wool-Ease. It’s not 100% wool, but the price is good and it’s a very nice yarn!

I would REALLY consider Plymouth Encore. Its a wool blend, but it comes in worsted and bulky, and washes up MUCH softer than a 100% wool would. Its what we used for Amy’s Afghan

In my stash, I found two skeins of the yarn Knitaly, that I used before the kids were born for the afghan that is still soft and in great shape in our
TV room. Am doing a web search to see who still carries it. Have found
a few places that seem to have a decent color selection and some good
prices. Still looking. If I can’t find enough, I will probably use Cascade
220 superwash. Liked Encore for the kids when they were growing up,
but the afghan in the TV room says go with 100% superwash wool.
I have probably washed that afghan over 15-18 times. My husband
is consistently getting food on it.
