I’m working a hat pattern on circular needles and part of the pattern says M1, which I know means Make One and that it is an increase. However, my book doesn’t really specify what kind of M1 it is, it just says M1 = make one (knit stitch). Is this an M1R or M1L? Thanks! :]
When it doesn’t specify you can use either. You only need L and/or R when you have paired incs like the edges of a sleeve or along a raglan line.
