M1 vs YO

I’m knitting a top down sweater that calls for yo’s for the increases between the fronts, back and sleeves. I’m not liking how they look and would like to do m1. Can I substitute?

K 18, yo, k1, place marker,yo k18 yo k1 etc etc

Sure. You can do any increase on a raglan. Since a YO is done between stitches an M1 where you pick up the bar in between would work well and shouldn’t require you to move the markers.

You could also just do the YOs and purl them through the back loop on the next row. It’s the same as doing a m1 but they won’t be as tight.
