Lyne Sock Pattern

I should know this but….the pattern by Dawn Henderson, a freebie from Ravelry states:

Under directions for Cuff “….work set-up rows 1 and 2,…” but only one row is mentioned, which reads: “work 1 round of twisted rib… then complete Chart A and then - At the beginning of next round work 1 by 1 twisted rib…”

What am I missing here?

The set up rows 1 and 2 refer to the long tail tubular cast on. Work the two rows for that cast on then join to work in the round. The next round is the 1x1 twisted ribbing.

What pretty socks with that lovely, delicate cuff.

I didn’t know how to do that cast-on, so I think I will learn it as the socks are so pretty. Another question!
The pattern talks about Chart A and B. Is one sock Chart A and the other on Chart B?

It is a very useful cast on to know. Certainly worth learning even if you don’t use it here.
The A and B charts refer to the two different sizes. Chart A is for the 7.5" circumference foot and B is for 8.5." You’ll only use one of the charts depending on the size you’re making. The same goes for the other directions. Size 7.5" is the number before the parentheses, size 8.5 is within the parentheses.
Looking forward to seeing your version of these socks!

I like the look of these socks & have downloaded the pattern. Curious what yarn you chose. I think it might be hard for me to locate the yarn that was used by designer. I’m wondering if any finger weight sock yarn would work, though I do like the look of the yarn that was pictured. I also don’t know this particular cast on but after watching several videos, it doesn’t seem too difficult.

I like to do this cast on using straight needles. The loops over the needle sometimes twist around too much on the cable of a circular needle. For me, the straight needle is easier even if it’s a smaller size than called for.

Good to know. Thanks

That was the other thing! I am using up leftover sock yarn which is self-patterning from Drops. I think I should pic something plain so the cuff area is more noticeable.

I saw a tutorial on YouTube of the cast on and it was done using the cable cast in or any other cast on method you choose (on Dpn) then the process of adding more stitches. https://youtu.be/5ztjTJ4tCoM?si=83wy3tqrpvIWwCN8

Thank you for the video. Good to know about these techniques.
The pattern designer also mentions a couple of long tail cast ons that will work as well.
