Love this pattern

I saw this free pattern on Elann and thought it would be perfect for my daughter. The body is simple enough, but I’m kinda put off by the way the collar is worked. I’m not too sure about the instruction to graft it. Whaddaya think??

They want the stitches for the collar to run in the other direction, so you knit it separately and sew it on. They say to graft the ends of the collar together, but only have live stitches on one end. If you wanted to avoid a seam, you could use provisional cast on and then really graft them with Kitchener stitch, or just sew the ends together.

Thanks Ingrid. That doesn’t sound as difficult as I thought. I think I was confused because I thought you were grafting the collar onto the front and back, but its the ends you graft. That definitely makes more sense.

Also, I must thank you for putting me onto the dental floss lifeline tip recently. It’s been working great. I just used what I had in the house but I think I’ll have to buy some unwaxed/unflavored floss to keep with my knitting gear.

You don’t want your knitting to be minty fresh? :rofling:
