Lotus Blossom Tank done

…and I’m not very happy with it. Even after I added an extra inch of stockinette stitch (maybe I should have added 4 extra inches or something) my bust doesn’t fit in that section properly and my bra shows. I am between minds of giving it away or saving it for the day when I’m a few sizes smaller. I still have the ends to weave in and some more blocking to do (I just can’t seem to get blocking done properly!) but I won’t do anything else on it since I can’t wear it right now.

Ah well. Here are some pics of it.

Thanks for looking.

It is really lovely - sorry that you’re not very happy with it though :pout: . I don’t know how many times I’ve made something that hasn’t turned out as I wished. It’s disheartening, especially after all that hard work.

It’s lovely!!! I’m so sorry that you are not happy with it.
What yarn did you use? It’s beautiful.

Aw shoot! And it looks so pretty in the pics. Is that the bamboo yarn?

Thanks girls : )

Rebecca and Nikki, yep - its bamboo yarn - SWTC in Tequilla.

oh wow!!! It’s great! I’m sorry you don’t like how it looks on you.

Generally with bust shaping, those of us who are extra-gifted have to add short rows, to form a mini “sack” for the girls to fit into :teehee:

You MIGHT be able to fix it. It would require cutting the knitting though. I’m not exactly sure how to do it… If you cut a slit in the front, pull out a row of knitting, pick up the live stitches on the top and bottom of the slit, and then add short rows that way.

Actually you might need to remove MORE than one row of stitches

If it’s worth the time and effort to you, you might try doing a search for adding short rows to the front of a completed garment.

I’m not sure if I’m going to sound stupid or not but I read for bust shaping you can do a blocking method where you form your boobs at the right size at the right spot and it works. You put crunched up paper bags or something to form the bust, and block that way. just an idea, not sure if it would work with your yarn or not.

Simply gorgeous. I would be bummed as well if it didn’t fit.

Hey Hilde! That procedure sounds interesting AND scary at the same time! But it’s worth looking into. Yes, my girls need alot of room! I let my sister try it on and its big on her but we can imagine how it will look if it was smaller.

Hey there Mulderknitter! That method sounds very interesting too! I’ve never heard of that but will look into it also. I guess its premise is the same as when you’re shaping an item after felting. I think I will need LOTS of crunched up paper bags to get the desired shape

Thanks knit ya’ll. I was feeling bummed about it. Knitqueen said it has happened to her too so I don’t feel so alone. Wish me luck with my Sonata tank!

Hi …maybe you can block to your bra size…try to stretch when you block on the top portion and if your bra show … maybe you can buy some lace ribbon and sew around the bra and neckline… i do that once on my scoop neck blouse… hope this helps…by the way u did a good job on this one !!!

It’s beautiful! I hope the blocking works, or if not, maybe you could wear a pretty camisole underneath to cover your bra?

that’s really too bad that it doesn’t fit :frowning:
it’s gorgeous otherwise…
